WebSphere MQ

Integration Tool

WebSphere MQ provides tools and services for developers to integrate existing applications and Web Services across more then 80 platforms and builds a messaging foundation for Enterprise Service Bus.  WebSphere MQ implements AMQP (advanced message queuing protocol) in a form of point-to-point messaging.

MQ ensures secure communication between the applications and assures delivery of each message. MQ seamlessly integrates with the messaging resources of IBM WebSphere Application Server.

Target Market:

Mid-size companies and large corporations that require the existing applications to exchange data across the enterprise or with partners and clients. Mostly, it is targeted towards developers building workflow applications and e-commerce sites.

MQ Family:

There are 3 editions of WebSphere MQ:

WebSphere MQ V6 – provides messaging services for application connectivity, including message queue management and reliable message delivery. MQ supports JMS and IPv6 standards. It can be used alone or combined with messaging services of WebSphere Application Server.

MQ Extended Security Edition provides advanced security services. It includes benefits of WebSphere MQ V6 plus the extended security services of IBM Tivoli® Access Manager for Business Integration (TAMBI) V5.1.1. Additionally, it includes remote administration of security services and adds protection to each message without a need to modify existing applications.

MQ Express is targeted to end-market and provides application-to-application communication and decouples business logic from the connectivity services through usage of Java Message Services (JMS) or MQ application programming interface. It is easy to use even by developers without experience in application connectivity.
